Soon after Katherine took office she was able to eliminate the hours-long tag lines that had plagued vehicle owners for many years. Through innovative management and technology, the long lines were virtually eliminated. Then, with the support of the Board of Commissioners, Katherine immediately opened up branch offices to handle the exponential growth in Gwinnett County.
Gwinnettians now have five convenient tag locations where they can renew their registration and apply for titles.
Lawrenceville continues to be the main tag office, including the call center and dealer services. Lawrenceville offers convenient drive-thru service.
The first and still the busiest branch tag office is the Norcross facility. Norcross caters to the diverse population in that geographic area and includes several multi-language staff members to accommodate the citizens.
The Peachtree Corners tag office continues to service the booming area around Peachtree Corners. The convenient location across the street from The Forum shopping area offers customers easy access.
The Snellville tag office is the first stand-alone facility. It includes a drive-thru window for quick renewal service.
The newest location, North Gwinnett, is near the Mall of Georgia in the complex with the police department and fire station. This office is open Tuesdays - Saturdays and also is a full-service property tax payment center.
